Do you feel stuck and unsure where you’re heading in your life? What you truly want? Maybe in a bit of a rut, without much sense of aliveness.

Everyone else seems to have figured it out but you, right?

Top that with feeling a bit like an alien who got dropped of on the wrong planet. “I don’t know what I want because what I see around myself makes no sense to me.” So you go through the motions of everyday life but it feels more like autopilot, rather than anything you’re connected to.

Here’s a thing: you know your Heart’s goals. Truth, you know!

So how come it’s not your experience?

Who are you, really?

From the day you were conceived you’re being influenced by your environment. It’s like the story of the Golden Buddha in Thailand.

Once upon a time, well, in about 1755 the Burmese army was invading Thailand, looting everything they perceived as valuable and killing everyone on the way. Hearing this the Buddhist monks of a monastery decided to hide their beautiful golden Buddha statue under many layers of plaster.

Sure enough, the looters came, took all valuables, didn’t bother about the Buddha statue, and killed all the monks. The monastery was left in ruins for about 200 years, until a group of monks decided to relocate it. As they were trying to lift the Buddha statue they noticed a crack on it and started investigating. As they gently peeled away the layers of plaster what they found was the Buddha made of solid gold.

Get my point?

We’re like this Golden Buddha who gets covered with the plaster of our environment’s beliefs, emotions, points of view about the world and about us, judgements, expectations etc. We soak it all up like a sponge when we are children because this keeps us in line. And staying in life means survival when you are a child.

By the time we reach adulthood we get so used to this plaster façade that we’re fully convinced it’s us, it’s who we are, and we’re ready to defend it, go to war for it, if anyone challenges that assumption.

However, “What if 98% of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions don’t even belong to you?”, my favourite question from Dr. Dain Heer, co-creator of Access Consciousness.

Why letting go matters?

When you hold on to what’s not yours, it creates noise and weight in your life. It’s like trying to tune into a clear radio station while static blares in the background.

Clarity emerges not from trying harder or adding more to your plate but from gently releasing what doesn’t serve you, what doesn’t actually belong to you.

Letting go isn’t about “giving up.” It’s an act of liberation. It’s about gently peeling away the plaster from the Golden Buddha that you are.

When you release old emotions, outdated beliefs, and other people’s expectations, you clear the way to connect with your heart’s desires.

Heartful living that is. 🥰

Practical tips to let go

Letting go may sound abstract, but it’s a deeply practical and transformative process. Here are a few tips to help you:

Release trapped emotions

Emotions like fear, anger, and guilt don’t just come and go. They often get stored in the body when we resist or suppress them.

Dr. David R. Hawkins, a beautiful teacher who helped me tremendously with his books, emphasizes that unprocessed emotions create energetic blockages, holding us back from living fully and authentically. These emotions may show up as tension in your shoulders, a knot in your stomach, or even chronic fatigue.

The good news? You don’t have to carry them forever.

By allowing yourself to fully feel these emotions without judgment or resistance, you invite them to release naturally.

This process isn’t about overanalysing or fixing. It’s about acknowledging the emotion, honouring its presence, and letting it move through you.

How about this? When you feel overwhelmed, find a quiet space and tune into your body.

Close your eyes and ask, “Where do I feel this emotion physically?”

Place your hand on that area, take a few deep breaths, and silently say, “It’s okay to feel this. I am safe to let it go.” Stay with the sensation until it starts to soften.

You might feel a lightness or warmth as the emotion begins to dissipate.

The more you practice this the more you’ll notice that your emotional load feels lighter, and your ability to respond to life with clarity and grace increases.

Identify what’s truly yours

Think about it: How many times have you pursued something because it was what others expected of you? Or you thought it was what they expected of you, but later on it turned out it was only your projection on them.

Have you chosen a career, a partner, a lifestyle, your dress style, a way of thinking because that was the norm around you and you just wanted to fit in? You desperately wanted to belong.

Did you end up feeling lonely, disconnected and even depressed as a result?

I was born in Romania, but when I was 8 my family moved to Hungary. In the process of moving to a different country we chatted a lot with my parents about how this country is going to be different. They were trying to prepare us with my brother to the upcoming change.

This, however, led me to consciously reprogramming myself, my handwriting, the way I spoke and used words, to fit in to this new norm I was transported into.

I basically consciously reconditioned myself in order to fit in. I took on my environment’s points of view.

So by holding the question: “Does this truly belong to me?” you can gently start identifying and removing those layers of conditioning.

Take it further by tuning into your body as you ask this question.

“Does a particular goal make me feel expansive and energized, or does it feel heavy and constricting?”

This physical response can be a powerful guide to what’s truly aligned with your heart and what you took on from someone else. Your heart speaks to you with lightness and ease. All else is clutter.

By letting go of what doesn’t belong to you, you basically turn down the volume on the interference so the gentle voice of your heart can come forward to guide you.

Declutter your mind and space

Have you noticed a parallel between your inner and outer space? Like when you walk into a clear, spacious and beautiful space you automatically calm down and you mind becomes clearer too?

The environment we spend time in has a huge impact on our inner world, thinking and feeling.

I used to work in a Waldorf/Steiner kindergarten where every care and attention was made to create an environment for the children to be truly nurturing for them. Only natural materials were allowed and the colours were soft and warm. It was like fairy land in the most beautiful and heart-centred way.

Rudolf Steiner, who created Waldorf education, recognised that the environment plays a vital role in the nurturing aspect of the education. And his goal was to educate mind, body and spirit in harmony.

But how does this apply to you? As an adult, you’re still mind, body and spirit, and truly an energetic being. The environment you’re in can nurture or deplete you. It can have an impact on your inner clarity.

So how about this? Stop for a moment and look around yourself. Where do you spend most of your time in a day?

How does that space truly make you feel? Is there anything that’s time to let go of? Any clutter? Any outdated objects that serve no purpose anymore?

Is there anything that could be added to make the space more You? More heart-centred and kind? More loving?

By decluttering your outer space, you basically support the decluttering of your inner space.

And by adding elements that reflect the truth of you, a space is created where that inner connection can flourish.

The gift of letting go

As you keep letting go of what doesn’t belong to you, a beautiful thing happens: your true desires begin to surface. The static fades, and the voice of your heart grows clearer. You’ll notice that your goals no longer feel like obligations but invitations—ways to align with your soul’s purpose.

So, how about this year, instead of piling on more goals and resolutions, starting by letting go.

Making space for clarity, and trust that your heart knows the way.

Heartful living, that is. 💖

The clearer your heart becomes, the more aligned and fulfilling your goals will be.

Could this year be the time when you step into the freedom and purpose you’ve always carried within?

Are you ready to let go and discover your heart’s truest desires?
